I’ve Promoted Myself To CEO Of My Own Body And Wellness – Day 355 of The Pollyanna Plan

Today I got a promotion! Well, technically speaking I gave myself a promotion, but whichever way you look at it, it’s the best promotion I’ve ever had and that’s what really counts.

Having listened to a fantastic interview with Kris Carr yesterday (part of the Hay House Start The New You Now Ultimate Webinar), I was inspired to promote myself to CEO of my own body and wellness.

Over the past two decades of chronic illness, I have tried many different (and sometimes crazy) treatments in a desperate bid to improve my health – some helped a little, some didn’t, most made me much worse. And I now realise that for the majority of the time I have completely ignored my intuition and often kept going with a treatment that wasn’t working for me because the practitioner insisted that I had to continue to see results.

But, not anymore. When it comes to my health and my body, I am now the boss and I make the decisions. And that means that if and when I look for help from medical or holistic practitioners, I am not making enquiries to find out if they are “willing to treat me”, as someone I recently contacted kindly told me. No! I am interviewing them to see if I am willing to be treated by them.

So, when I contacted a holistic dentist this afternoon, that’s exactly what I did. (The last time I went to the dentist I had a horrible experience and I’m not about to let that happen again.) In the past, I’d have felt shy about asking so many questions and taking up the receptionist’s time. And I’d also have felt bad about being forthright and wanting to know all the details about a treatment. But not today. Not now that I’m CEO of my body.

Today I felt confident to ask all the questions I needed to ask and to talk in detail about what exactly my requirements are. And you know what? It went really well and my intuition was in agreement. So, together we will be scheduling an appointment in a few weeks time.

Day 355, Reason 355: Today I am feeling happy, inspired and empowered by my promotion to CEO of my own body and wellness. 🙂

Next step is to find the perfect naturopath for me who can give consultations vis SKYPE – just putting it out to the Universe to see what comes back! If you can recommend anybody, please do let me know.

  1. I’ve been listening to the hay house webinar too, it’s really good. I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to be assertive and ask loads of questions I was / am exactly the same but like you trying to be more direct and determined with it. I’ve never heard of a holistic dentist how does it differ from the standard dentist?

    1. Well, I haven’t been yet, but from what I understand a holistic dentist doesn’t just look at your teeth, but considers your dental health in the context of your overall general health. They also try not to use chemicals or toxins and only use antibiotics as a last resort. I’ll let you know how it goes! 🙂

      1. Sounds interesting and more beneficial than a normal dentist! Good luck and look forward to hearing how it goes. Hope you have little a celebration planned for the last day of the Pollyanna plan, 365 positive grateful blog posts is something definitely worth celebrating 🙂

      2. My Mum and I have just booked a trip to Lisbon to celebrate my achievement of completing The Pollyanna Plan challenge and my improved health! Yey! My first proper trip for years. I can’t wait!

And, no worries about the email. As you can see, I’ve put the legal stuff up for now, but didn’t want to include a link to your blog without your permission.
