A Friend At The End Of The Tunnel – Day 312 of The Pollyanna Plan

Yippeeeeee! I have just literally this second…well a few seconds ago… heard from a friend I used to work with years ago.

I know many of you know this already, but for those who don’t, I moved back to my home country 7 years ago to live with my Mum, when I became too ill to work or to live alone.

I had to leave all my friends from my life overseas behind and sadly the friends I had from home had all moved away, due to the financial crisis and the serious lack of jobs where I live.

Then, because I’ve been so ill for such a long time, I haven’t been able to get out and socialise to meet anyone. The few people I have met over the years have drifted away, as I guess it’s not that easy to deal with someone else’s chronic illness and so I lead a very isolated life.

Most of the time all this doesn’t bother me. My Mum is fantastic company (as are my dogs and cats) and I chat regularly with my friends around the world through social media. I also have you, my new blog friends too! I know that I’m extremely fortunate in many ways.

But, I’d LOVE to have some real, actual friends to meet up with every now and then. And I have to admit, that lately this has been getting me down. BUT, instead of choosing to focus on my lack of friends, I’ve been using all my new found law of attraction skills to work on manifesting some new ones!

And then today, I received a message through Facebook from a girl I used to work with years ago, who’d I’d lost touch with. Remarkably, she lives just up the road from me AND she didn’t shy away when I told her I’d been ill all these years (believe me, many people are put off by this!)

In fact, she said that she’d love to come and see me when I’m feeling up to it! Yippee! Yippeee!

Really, I’m so happy!!!! There’s a friend at the end of the long, dark tunnel!

Day 312, Reason 312: Today I am so very excited, happy and grateful for having found a friend who lives nearby and for the promise of a more sociable life.

Now I just need this pesky virus to naff off, cos I’ve got a social life to live! 🙂

AND I have yet more SUPER exciting news. After yesterday’s post, I received TWO, yep that’s right T-W-O more donations for Save the Children through The Pollyanna Plan’s sponsorship page.

Thank you soooooooo much to the extremely kind and generous people who donated. Your donations and lovely messages really helped to cheer me up and get me back to my happy place! 🙂

And thanks to all you fantastic people who have donated so far (HUGE hugs and big love to you), together we have now raised an amazing £451.24 for Save the Children.

ALL the money raised goes towards saving children’s lives around the world, fighting for their rights and helping them to fulfill their potential.

I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to raise £500 by the end of The Pollyanna Plan in just 53 days time. Soooo……if you have enjoyed reading my posts and following me on my journey to find 365 reasons to feel glad/happy/joyful for 365 days, maybe you would be kind enough to sponsor me for a small amount of money.

  1. I’d hang out with you, but I live in the U.S, lol! I totally believe in the law of attraction and it is possible to manifest anything you desire. I’ve been working on manifesting money. It’s been coming in spurts, but I still need to let go of the “how’s” and to just allow the universe to do its work. Great post!

  2. Late to the party – I’ve had trouble reading 😦 I’d hang out too – if you can put up with a chronic pain (in the neck ) as well as elsewhere 🙂 Enjoy meeting your friend. Ciao, Susan x

    1. Thank you, Susan. I’m really looking forward to it! And we can most definitely hang out! In fact, if I make it over to the Gold Coast, I’d love to come and visit…if that’s ok with you of course!! 😀 xx
