Rising From The Ashes – Day 184 of The Pollyanna Plan

I’ve been lying on the sofa this afternoon watching Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I really, really would love a phoenix! I just find the whole re-birth, rising from the ashes thing so very inspiring…and really rather cool. 🙂

When you come to think about it, we all have phoenix moments in our lives – new beginnings if you like, a chance to rise from life’s ashes, stronger, with greater power, with love in our hearts and peace in our souls.  I’d like to think that I’m on my own journey out of the ashes, and even though I’m having a health setback at the moment, I know that one day soon I will be soaring.

Speaking of soaring, I would like to dedicate today’s post to my best friend who this afternoon received her Acupuncture Title, after years of studying Traditional Chinese Medicine. I am so, so happy for her and more proud of her than she will ever know, as not only is this such a HUGE achievement, but she took her final exams a few weeks ago,  just days after her wonderful, beloved father passed away.

Through this time of deep sadness and loss, she has shown such courage, bravery and amazing strength. She has always been a totally awesome person, but now, more than ever, she is grasping life with both hands and really, truly living. She is such an inspiration to me.

And you know what, she didn’t just scrape through her exams, as one would expect, she aced them… 10/10, top marks!

Day 184, Reason 184: Today I am so very happy and extremely proud of my dearest friend for everything she has achieved. You rock! ❤

  1. Well done to your friend! What a handy skill to have. I think I’ve had a few Phoenix moments. After my divorce from a controlling man who took all my confidence away. When I lost the four and a half extra stones I’d been carrying and twice when I was made redundant and started all over again. Wonder how many more there will be?
