Positivity on Autopilot – Day 54 of The Pollyanna Plan

Oh man! After such a great day yesterday, I woke in the middle of the night with a very sore throat and a fever. I’m really not feeling well today, but the fantastic thing is that for the first time ever, I’m not feeling despondent or disappointment by this. In fact, I’ve been in very good spirits all day. Not bad, considering it feels like I’m swallowing razor blades!

Day 54, Reason 54: I’m delighted that, even though I’ve had a minor setback with my health, I am still feeling happy and super positive.

I cannot begin to tell you what a transformation this is and how great it feels. I give full credit to The Pollyanna Plan for this shift in my thinking and feeling, as the practice of finding a reason to feel glad/happy/joyful each day is becoming a habit now and part of my routine.

I guess The Plan is sort of training my brain to react and feel differently to the ups and downs of my health. It’s like the hidden power of smiling I talked about on Day 6 of The Pollyanna Plan – the more you smile, the more you FEEL like smiling. At first, finding a reason to feel happy every day can feel quite forced, particularly when things aren’t going so well. But, with some effort, once I have started those happy feelings flowing, it becomes increasingly easier for me to genuinely feel positive.

And after only 54 days, it’s obvious that feeling happy and positive is now beginning to happen automatically, without me having to consciously think about it. How great is that?! I’m over the moon! 🙂

311 days to go

311 reasons to feel glad/happy/joyful to find

£271.82 to raise for Save The Children

The Pollyanna Plan is already making a HUGE, positive difference to my life and I hope to be able to make a positive difference to children’s lives around the world, by raising money for Save the Children.

Just £5.00 (5.85 EUR or 7.55 USD) will pay for enough Plumpy Nut to treat a severely malnourished child for 3 months. So little can do so much!
